CB750 Chopper Project

Demise of the chopper

Well, I finally made the decision to part out my chopper project. When I first started it I didn't know much about motorcycles and I thought that it was what I wanted. After having not touched it in over a year due to spending all my time and money on sportbikes, I finally admitted to myself that a →

Hell yeah! I got a mag!

Now I know this won't mean much to most of you, but I found an original sandcast ARD Magneto for my CB750 Chopper project!  I don't have it yet.  I just bought it on eBay with Buy it Now, so we'll see, but I'm super stoked.  They are extremely rare and hand built.  The last one I saw for sale →

Welding

Good news on the chopper front. It turns out my neighbor Paul, is a welder. I showed him my project and asked for his help. He said that he'd be happy to help if I just replace the materials he uses building what I need. Nice. I think all I need is help mounting the →

Gas Tank

I'm finally getting back on the ball with my chopper. Just got the tank and I'm stoked on how it looks.

The brains of this operation

Sweet! I just got all the new electrics for my chopper project! Whew. It took me a long time to →

Finished rebuilding the carbs

I finallly finished rebuilding the carburetors. I boiled 'em, cleaned them up completely, painted the bodies black, installed a complete rebuild kit and put on pod filters. The look awesome. Carb rebuild kits for '77 & '78 CB750s are hard to find. If you use the link up there and search for part number KH-1157N you →

Paint & Wheels

I finally got axles and temporary spacers, so I have the wheels mounted on the frame now. It's awesome to finally really see what the bike's stance actually is going to be. Serious lowrider. Click here for the gallery I also got through with masking and painting the motor. It looks almost brand new. Got a bunch of →

Clean motor

I got the cylinders and external engine parts all hot tanked and bead blasted. The place I took everything was great. It cost me $75 for everything. You can see the pics here: http://www.corbell.org/hawk/gallery/clean_engine

Long time

It took a lot longer than I thought to get the rest of these parts. In any case I finally got the front & rear wheels with tires, axles, rotors, etc. I've also completely finished tearing down the motor. I had the cylinders honed and took all the cases, cylinders, head cover, etc to this great local machine shop. →

Where to look
